If it drops below freezing where you park, should the battery come out and live indoors — and at what charge level?
Store it indoors at room temperature, charged to roughly 60%. Top it back up every 6–8 weeks. Never leave it fully drained, and don’t leave it on the charger all season.
A few hundred miles in, there’s a slight squeak on cold starts that fades once everything warms up. Anything to worry about?
Cold-start noise that disappears as the bike warms is normal. If it persists warm, check chain tension and lubrication, and make sure nothing has worked loose at the rack or fender mounts.
The commute is half bike path, half gravel, on the stock tires. What pressure balances comfort and efficiency?
Start in the middle of the range printed on the sidewall — around 35 PSI front and 40 rear on fat tires. Drop 3–5 PSI if it feels harsh on gravel; add a few back for mostly-pavement days.
I want to add panniers for grocery runs and would rather bolt to the mounts already on the frame.

There’s a big climb in both directions and the battery drains faster than the rated range. Any assist strategy that helps?
Rated range assumes flat ground and low assist. Stay in a low assist level on the flats and save the high levels for the actual climb, keep tires near max pressure, and coast the descents with assist off to stretch what’s left.
